Research Focus

My research has focused on how cell surface receptors form complexes to create differential signaling networks. This ability of receptors to associate with other transmembrane proteins as well as intracellular molecules allows the cell to translate extracellular signals into a diverse range of long-term responses beyond the initial signaling cascade. I’m especially interested in how these associations can be modified during aging and the progression of neurodegenerative disease.

Teaching Goals

As a 20.109 technical instructor, I’m excited to work with students to synthesize and communicate theoretical concepts while developing and refining essential laboratory skills. I enjoy learning new information and techniques, and I want to share that enthusiasm with others while teaching students how to think creatively when troubleshooting scientific problems.
